The death of the franking machine?

Posted by Hannah Elwell
February 19th, 2009

If you’ve ever been at your wits’ end because the office franking machine has run out of credit or has chewed up an important document, or perhaps you’ve experienced being fed up with people using it for personal mail, then you’ll be interested to hear that there is an alternative!

We’re helping client GI Direct and joint venture partner Haigh Consultancy Services launch a franker amnesty and encourage offices up and down the country to give up their franking machine for a two week period while they trial Unity, a hybrid mail system which will save on the stress and disruption caused by tempromental frankers and unauthorised use.  The move could see a stalwart of reception desks and post rooms vanish after 150 years.

In a nutshell, Unity can not only cut down on stress but it can also save companies money and benefit the environment, compared to traditional mail.  In fact bosses at GI Direct have estimated Unity can save up to 70% on the cost of sending communications by post… to find out more visit www.unityhybridmail.com.

Oh… and watch this space for more news on ‘Frankie’, the troublesome franking machine who will be making an appearance soon!

Whilst millions have taken days off due to the recent snow downpours, team Unsworth Sugden has bucked the trend, with people using a combination of bikes, trains, buses, cars and even braving the icy conditions under foot to get to work.

But not ones to want to miss out on all the fun, part of lunchtime was taken up by a creative team building exercise, the results of which you can see below.

Ok so it’s not exactly a work of art. But it goes to show that even those who turn up to work can have some fun!
