Make the headlines not the tea

Duration:

Ongoing, from two weeks to 12 months.

Remuneration:

£50 towards travel expenses awarded per week.

Description:

Be thrown in at the deep end and build your skills across all aspects of PR, communications and reputation management. Our PR internship programme is very flexible, with some interns joining us on a full-time basis over a period of six months while others might only join us for a few weeks or months for example over the summer.

When:

We accept applications throughout the year. We are also able to provide interns with an opportunity to not only join the PR team – but support on marketing, social media and business development projects for the agency itself.

How:

If you would like to apply for a PR agency internship, please send your CV and a short covering letter to Hannah Elwell [email protected]. Take the time to explain how you would benefit from the PR internship and why you are a good fit for the role.

How we will reward you:

  • Get stuck in with a busy agency
  • Hands-on experience across all aspects of PR, communications, and reputation management
  • Thrown into the deep end, with ongoing development support
  • Opportunity to tackle all the key PR tasks from writing press releases to organising events
  • Work in a fast-moving and time-pressured environment
  • Build an understanding of the commercial dynamics of a full service agency
  • Strong well-respected client brands on your CV

Responsibilities of a PR intern:

  • Daily media monitoring
  • Writing and distributing press releases
  • Devising story ideas and angles
  • Building, maintaining, and updating media lists
  • Schedule and coordinate events
  • Research projects and presenting findings back
  • Sit in on client meetings
  • Draft all kinds of B2B and B2C copy
  • Draft photography and videography briefs
  • Assist in administrative duties

What we are looking for:

  • Previous background in PR is not required
  • Ambitious, go-getter, hard-working attitude
  • Strong writing skills
  • An interest in reputation, persuasion, and public relations
  • Creativity and the ability to think outside the box
  • Team player

 Where:

Our office is located in Anstey, Leicester, LE7 7GR. We’d ideally like someone to work from the office, certainly initially, in order to get the hang of things but then working from home available for a portion of the time. It’s much more difficult for people who are new to the industry to pick up skills without having direct contact with others who are more experienced. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions quickly, see the mechanics of PR directly, and get quick and immediate feedback.

Hybrid working is available after the initial settling in period depending on the person.

Hours:

Hours of work are 9am to 5.30pm but again we can be flexible within this time frame if required.
