The USG PR team has been working closely with one of its clients, David Wilson Homes Eastern Counties, in order to promote site safety to children.
At a site in Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex, six pupils from Quilters Junior School were invited to don hard hats and high-visibility jackets for a tour. The students were also given an in-depth safety talk by site manager James Armstrong.
Emily Boucher, one of the pupils involved, had previously written a letter to David Wilson Homes expressing her wish to become a bricklayer when she leaves school.
During the tour, Emily got to fulfil her dream and have a go at bricklaying.
This was a great opportunity for the pupils to see what careers are available in the construction sector as well as learn more about the dangers of building sites. The event ticked many of the boxes for a great PR story and the team was successful in securing lots of media coverage.
