January 2011
Starting the year as we mean to go on

From VIP events to journalist visits, mascot costumes to films, 2011 has started with a bang for the team at Unsworth Sugden.

Members of the PR department recently attended a VIP event from client Barratt West Midlands to officially mark the commencement of the multi-million pound regeneration of The Lyng estate in West Bromwich. When complete the project will provide 364 new homes, new public open spaces and parks.

The team also organised for a journalist from The Times to visit developments for clients David Wilson East Midlands and Barratt Mercia, more of which you can read about in our blog. Also on the blog is news of a new furry addition to the East Midlands division – a full-size mascot sourced by the Unsworth Sugden!

Something else the team has been putting together is a film for an internal project with client David Wilson South Midlands with producer Barry Wale. This is one of a number of films we have been commissioned to do in the past few months.

Elsewhere at Unsworth Sugden we have welcomed back account executive John Kendall from a three month sabbatical travelling around China. During his trip he visited the Great Wall, The Forbidden City, The Terracotta Warriors and Hong Kong Island and has since revealed his favourite moments were exploring Beijing's hutongs (narrow streets) and markets and Hong Kong at night. John has now returned to continue working alongside both our USdigital and recruitment advertising departments

Finally, many congratulations to PR Account Executive Tom Lee who recently graduated from the University of York with a distinction in his Master's Degree in English Literature. Well done Tom!
