Former Leicester Tigers star Matt Hampson has officially opened the brand new head office of Leicester’s leading and longest standing disabilities services charity, Mosaic Shaping Disability Services.

The ex-rugby player, who is confined to a wheelchair after suffering a spinal injury in a training session in 2005, was invited, along with a host of local dignitaries and partners of Mosaic, to kick-off a week of celebrations for the new, bespoke 5,500 sq ft permanent home at the le3 business park off Ratby Lane built by the commercial division of our client, Westleigh Developments.

Schlüter-Systems Rolls Out Route to Paris with Schlüter®-DITRA

Posted by Dave Toyn
September 24th, 2010

Our client, Schlüter-Systems has had significant sales success over the past 12 months with it’s leading universal substrate Schlüter®-DITRA. So much so, that the unique membrane could see you travel from London to Paris on the famous orange matting. In the last year alone, UK sales of this uncoupling membrane for tiled and natural stone installations from Schlüter have reached 500,000m2. That’s the equivalent of 310 miles of the matting in length and the distance between these two great capital cities.

It’s not ‘difficile’ to work out why people all over the country are saying ‘oui’ to Schlüter®-DITRA, the original uncoupling membrane. It remains unique to the market due to its dovetail shape design within the square recesses, plus a single laminated anchoring fleece on the underside.

Carl Stokes, Divisional Manager at Schlüter-Systems, comments, “Paris is often referred to as the City of Love and the fact that you could travel there from London on Schlüter®-DITRA is a testament to how many people in the UK have loved our product over the past 12 months alone. Throughout its 20 plus years in the market, Schlüter®-DITRA has remained at the top of its game and is still as effective and functional as the day it was first launched, ensuring that every tile installation lasts as long as they are designed to and leaving customers feeling ‘très bon’!”

Leading solicitor and client Bray and Bray, has given Leicester based charity, LOROS a helping hand with a donation for its annual fun run.

Runners have been pounding the streets of Leicester and Hinckley in preparation for the series of running events which are taking place on Wednesday 22nd September.

Fundraisers will be able to take part in either a 5K race or a Fun Run Mile in Hinckley and the money donated by Bray and Bray will help to supply chip timers, t-shirts and medals for those who take part.

This fun run is just one of the many ways that Bray and Bray has supported LOROS over the years and will help the charity in its mission to care for terminally-ill patients and their families.

Good luck to everyone taking part!

Sophie’s Week at Unsworth Sugden

Posted by Hannah Elwell
September 10th, 2010

The time I have spent in the PR department of Unsworth Sugden has been a great opportunity for me. Having never completed work experience before, I was unsure what to expect and what would be expected of me.

I arrived on the first day to meet Hannah Elwell the Director of PR. She gave me a tour of the building and introduced me to her colleagues as we went along; and everyone was very welcoming.

The work that I have carried out during my week has been an invaluable experience for me to get an insight into the day to day running of a PR department. The tasks set for me have given me the ability to use my imagination and build on my understanding of PR. For instance, I have completed research on numerous items set for me, used my creative flair and knowledge to come up with some names for new housing developments that the department works with; as well as ideas for branding items. I also helped develop competition ideas for the internal newsletters, contributed to putting together the press cuttings for summary packs, and learnt about AVEs, OTS and PRE.

As well as this, I have had the opportunity to see how each person contributes to the success of Unsworth Sugden. Everyone is very busy and cheerful when liaising with clients or colleagues, so it is a great work environment to be in – I have felt completely comfortable, part of a team and my confidence has grown tremendously.
