Why have a blog on your website?

Posted by Paul Bradley
October 28th, 2008

After the launch of our new Unsworth Sugden website, the next important step for us was to launch this blog.

Blogging is all the rage at the moment, both with companies and individuals. Why have we decided to do one? The answer is simple - it keeps our website looking bang up-to-date, and also keeps current and future clients informed on what’s happening within the company, whether it be work related or just fun and games.

Regular updating this way means your site never gathers dust, and doesn’t become one of those company sites that makes you wonder if the site was updated in 1998 or 2008. Do they still offer Free Widget Cleaning? Is that special offer on Widget Maintenance still current?

Remember, the first step to a potential sale is often through your website.

Administration is simple, members of staff can login and add a story through the web interface with just a few simple clicks. When it only takes minutes to update, keeping the stories fresh on a weekly basis becomes a whole lot easier.

So, the lesson, if you haven’t already gathered from my subtle persuasion - get a blog!

Online advertising on the up

Posted by Ryder Sugden
October 20th, 2008

Online advertising is proving more popular than ever before.  Clients are embracing the Internet as a cost effective way of targeting new customers.

Recent reports suggest that online advertising in Europe has grown by more than 40% in the last 18 months.  In addition, forcecasts and predictions suggest that online advertising is likely to expand by a figure of 20% over the next 12 months.

One of the main attractions of online advertising appears to be the ability to get your audience to click on a digital advertisement and direct them onto a company’s website; once on the company website, you are no longer competing against other on the page advertisers.

It is important the initial web banner, sky scraper or button has a strong catchy sales message.  Don’t try and include all of the product’s unique selling points, these can all be included on the website.  The most important thing is to get the Internet user to click on the advertisement.  Design and creativity is paramount, particularly if there are other advertisers on the web page.

If designed and written correctly, online advertisements can help to increase website traffic and subsequently increase online enquiries and sales.

Web design for Vizion

Posted by Ryder Sugden
October 18th, 2008

Unsworth Sugden’s web division USdigital has designed an exciting new microsite for housebuilder Barratt Homes’ Milton Keynes development, Vizion.

Vizion is a flagship development with over 307 luxury apartments, situated in the centre of Milton Keynes. The website will promote the great location and attractive lifestyle that Vizion offers. A major selling point is its close proximity to the bars and restaurants at ‘The Hub MK’ and the nearby shopping centres. The development is likely to attract a lot of interest from homebuyers from outside the area, who may well be unfamiliar with Milton Keynes. The website will be showcasing all of the exciting new things Milton Keynes has to offer.

The microsite will be promoted by both press and online advertising.

The Camp Hill phase three community regeneration public preview took place last night and it was a resounding success for client David Wilson Mercia and partners PinCH. All the local press attended the VIP night the evening before and we achieved significant coverage in the papers that morning as well as a slot on BBC radio Coventry and Warwickshire. A fantastic start for this major development project. Watch out for more news as the Camp Hill story unfolds! http://www.prideincamphill.co.uk/

All work and no play?

Posted by Ryder Sugden
October 6th, 2008

September was a hectic month for the agency.

The recruitment advertising team gained the Servoca Nurses and Care account, while the PR department added the property developer and investment company Raynsway to its ever growing list of retained clients.

Our web division, usdigital, has been appointed by Midland Handling Equipment, the conveyor chain specialists, to design their new company website and Battery Direct has signed up for usdigital’s monthly SEO package.

We did however manage to fit in the annual mid year (slightly late) agency outing, to celebrate everyone’s hard work this year.  After all we can’t have all work and no play!
